For years, a single mom and her disabled teen lived in an unsafe home in Platte Valley, NE. Each rainfall flooded the basement, feeding dangerous mold that eventually led to a life-threatening infection and brain surgery. Our team from Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun stepped in to remediate the mold, tear out walls and baseboards, waterproof the home, and rebuild the basement because we build together to create safe living environments.
After a traumatic brain injury while serving our country, one veteran in Platte Valley, NE faced serious health challenges, including losing feeling in his lower legs. A fall in the shower left him with broken teeth and the risk of losing his independence. Through the efforts of Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun, we are creating a fully handicap-accessible bathroom with a zero-entry shower because we build together to support our veterans.
The Platte House was our first affordable housing project in Platte Valley, NE, where we bought a house that was in need of serious renovations. Our team, with the help of many awesome contractors and the support of Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun, was able to fix and renovate the house and sell it to someone in need of a home at an affordable price. We build together as we currently have another project planned.
